It was Sunday, October 6, when I ate an insect cookie. You see, the nonprofit org Little Herds was there to provide much-needed nourishment to go along with the Lagunitas IPA beer I was drinking.
It was a delicious cookie, made with the finest organic cricket in the city. No, I’m not talking about Cricket played by David Hornsby in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
I’m talking about the insect.
That was Sunday. Today, Tuesday October 8, I went to their exhibition booth to say hi and marvel at their organic tasty treats.
I noticed that not all the items were like the cookie I consumed on Sunday, which contained ground up cricket. Oh no, it was real deal time. They had Ritz crackers topped with honey and crickets. Rest assured, the crickets were not alive. I decided to try one with gusto, and picked a cracker topped with not two but three crickets.
Before masticating the treat and continuing it along the digestive process, I decided a picture was in order:
It wasn’t bad at all folks. I might have to go outside tonight and catch a midnight snack, if ya know what I mean.
